Trade Show

My good friend Ali decided to try and do a trade show with her little business. She had been talking about doing it for awhile and I thought it would be lots of fun to help. We had a good time trying to make all the crafts and getting everything ready. I have to say I think her booth was the cutest there. Vinyl is still kind of new out here so there wasn't anything like it at the trade show.

Square Dancing!!!

There is a gentleman in our ward that learned how to call square dances from his father, he has the perfect voice for it and is a very funny, witty guy. Our ward decided to put his talent to good use and set up a square dancing night!
We had a blast learning all the dance steps. It was on this dance, the Virginia Reel, that I took a tumble. See the couple sashaying(spelling ?)down the middle. Chris and I were head couple sashaying down the middle, mind you its a very fast dance and you are practically running sideways, when my heel slipped off my flip flop(big mistake) and then my other foot stepped on my shoe. It could have been just a little stumble except that Chris was holding my hands and was looking forward and did not see me begin to trip so I kind of flew sideways and landed on my butt and got dragged across the smooth court floor as Chris is holding my hands up in the air. The part I am really embarrassed about is that my shirt got pulled up and showed that I didn't have real maternity pants on. I had my regular pants on that were zipped down and strapped together with a rubberband. Yeah, there was a nice uncomfortable silence after that. Fun memories, fun memories. p.s. yes, I know there is a run on sentence and Chris will probably give me a grammar lesson and then have me fix it. thanks Chris. :)
We brought along our kids and let them play in the nursery. Mason came to watch for awhile and we were surprised to see him cuddle up to a "stranger", to him anyways. I think Mason is our most shy child yet, which is funny since he is dragged around everywhere and meets new people all the time.
Here's a group picture of the night!

Oh, this age is bitter sweet!

This is how I discovered Mason, 10 minutes before I was supposed to walk out the door for church. I was doing so good that morning trying to stay on time. I just took a few minutes to finish blow drying my hair and he took full advantage of the opportunity. One of Mason's favorite things to get into, is the toothpaste. We have a stool in the boys room for their closet and he drags that everywhere to get into what he wants to get into.
What a cute little face I just had to get the camera, he was having so much fun. The story continues. I get him all washed and dressed again in clean clothes and went to help Cade find socks and I walked back in my bathroom to find that he had reached up and pulled down my face powder and it had spilled all over the floor and he was on his hands and knees spreading it all over, so yet again I had to change his clothes, actually CJ did. I told him I was about ready to loose it and he offered to change Masons clothes for me, while I got things together to head out the door. My little CJ is so helpful and responsible I am sure grateful for him.

We are having a GIRL!!!

We are soooo excited to be having a girl! The whole family is!

We had asked the children what they were hoping for and surprised to hear that they were all hoping for a sister. We thought the boys would want a brother so we asked them why they said a sister and they both replied so Macey will quit trying to play our "boy games" with us. Poor girl she does need a sister. I know they say girls are so emotional and too much, but I feel it's more important for Macey to learn to SHARE, her stuff, her girly toys, bows, clothles etc. Plus I love my sisters and the relationships I have with them. I also feel it will help her as an adult to have to learn to get along with all these different personalities in the family. Hopefully my children will be able to get along with people, co-workers, friends etc.
I make it sound like I wanted this from the very beginning, but that was not the case. Even though I wanted this for Macey and my family, I just could not get past the thought that I am not a person who can handle five children. I am a scatterbrain and an airhead and I don't delegate well, meaning my house is always a mess, because I haven't trained and made charts with the kids like the good moms do. How am I going to keep a functioning household and stay on top of all the school projects and sports events and stay within a tight budget with this economy. Scary stuff huh. Fortunetly I have a husband who's willing to show a little bit more faith than I am.
